How to Measure for Replacement Couch Cushion Foam
There are three measurements that you want to get from your existing couch cushions. Take the following measurements, and record them on a piece of paper. It is recommended that you remove the existing foam from one of your cushion covers to ensure an accurate measurement. There is typically a zipper in the rear of the cushion cover that will allow the foam to be removed.
- The THICKNESS of the couch cushions.
Round the measurement to the nearest, whole inch. For example . . . If your measurement is less than 4.5", round down to 4". If your measurement is greater than or equal to 4.5", round up to 5".
- The LENGTH of the couch cushions.
Measure the overall length of each of your couch cushions. You will probably have 2 to 3 cushions per sofa. Add those measurements together. If your couch cushions have 'ears', make sure you are measuring the longest edge .
- The DEPTH of the couch cushions.
The depth of the couch cushions typically goes up to either 24" or 27". Make sure you select a size that is equal to, or LARGER than your existing cushion.
